8th Annual Corvette Reunion & 3rd Annual Heritage Collection

8th Annual Corvette Reunion & 3rd Annual Heritage Collection

Welcome to 8th Annual Corvette Reunion in 2017, the Corvette is 64 years old. As many of you may know, the Corvette was born here in Flint, Michigan in 1953. We are very proud of that and to bring you one of the most exciting Corvette shows in the country. In 2016 there were nearly 800 beautiful Corvettes from pure stock to full custom, on display from all over the country. This year we are expecting even more.

Anyone who owns a Corvette can bring their car to the show FREE. You DO NOT NEED to belong to a club to come and enjoy. It’s FREE to come, FREE to park and FREE to have a fantastic day viewing thousands of fantastic vehicles throughout the Back to the Bricks® event.

If you want to enter your Corvette into the judged portion of the show, there is a $25.00 fee. You can pre-register online at our website or go to the Hospitality Tent on Saturday for details.

We will have free bottled water to hand out during the day. Many of you know Flint had a water issue. Most of that is resolved. It did not affect any cities, homes, hotels or restaurants outside of Flint, as they have a separate water supply system. The restaurants in Flint have upgraded their water systems so it is safe to use for cooking and drinking.

August 19, 2017 is our 3rd year for The Heritage Collection. A Corvette from every model year is planned to be put all together in 1 area. Here you will see some of the finest Corvettes available. We plan to have some very special cars for your viewing pleasure, 64 years of beautiful Corvettes. If you own a stock or near stock Corvette, submit an application to the Heritage Collection tab on our website.

Saturday’s Judged Car show portion of the event will award trophies to the top 75 registered Corvettes and up to 25 of the local club cars registered; a $25.00 registration fee is for the Judged Car Show portion only. Trophies will also be awarded for oldest Corvette, furthest traveled, largest club and best of show. There will also be a Corvette Car Cover, valued over $150.00 given away to one lucky Judged car show participant.

Friday night is our official Meet and Greet Party it will be held at Brick Street Bar and Grill, 1223 E. Grand Blanc Road, in Grand Blanc Township, from 5:00 pm til 9:00 pm Corvettes may be displayed on the Lawn area at this very successful reception and dinner. Everyone is welcome. Corvettes on Woodward 8/17th-20th

Dear Corvette Friends,

2016-Corvettes-Woodward-M1 ConcourseI hope this note finds you doing well and gearing up for another great season of cruising in our Corvettes.  Many of you have asked what our plans are for CORVETTES on WOODWARD this year.   After many years at the Kingsley Inn, I am very excited to announce that our beginning event (on Wednesday August 17, 2016) will be moving a few miles up the road to M1 Concourse in Pontiac (www.m1concourse.com).  In case you have not heard about M1 Concourse, it is an 87 acre playground for auto enthusiasts right on Woodward that includes a secure community of 250+ Private  Garages and a state of the art 1.5 mile Performance Track with its own private Motorsports Club.  The property was formerly a General Motors factory for 100 years!

M1 is going to be the largest facility of its kind in the world and they have already sold over 125 of the Private Garages. This will be the place to be during Dream Cruise.  The owners have welcomed us with open arms and the facility can accommodate many more Corvettes than we have ever had before.   Plus, they have a big tent to provide shade and food will be available.  The coolest part is we will all have the opportunity to drive on the 1.5 mile Champion Motor Speedway on the way out of the facility in the evening.  We will also drive the loop around downtown Pontiac with a police escort.

Champion Motor SpeedwayM1 ConcourseCorvettes on Woodward will continue to support the Open Hands Food Pantry and we may consider additional local charities to help.  Please remember to bring your Food Donation and a $10 donation.  All proceeds go to the Open Hands Food Pantry.

There will be a CORVETTE GENERATIONS DISPLAY and a Souvenir Book again this year.  Display Corvettes will be chosen in June. You will be receiving details of tours and addresses for the three day event in future emails.

m1 concourse flag displayAdditionally, we plan to do an American Flag formation of cars for a great media opportunity and aerial photo.  If you own a Red, White or Blue Corvette make sure I have your contact information so we can contact you in advance.

Verna and I are really excited about this move and look forward to seeing you there.  So, tell all of your Corvette friends that this year is going to be bigger and better.

This is turning out to be a year of changes.  If you are on Facebook or the Corvette Forum or read the Corvette Blogger you know that CORVETTES IN THE “D”, Vettes for Vets is cancelled.  I need to find a new location and possibly a different weekend.  I will be writing to all of you at a later date about that.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Larry Courtney
